What is Solstead

Solstead is a pixel farming RPG on Solana that runs in your browser. You inherit your grandmother's overgrown farm in the Solstead valley, bring the field back to life and sell what you grow.

Gold keeps the farm running. $STEAD, the valley's token, is what the Harvest Ledger pays for filled orders and for every Solbloom you pick.

Play to earn. Every crop you ship goes on the Ledger, and the Ledger pays in $STEAD.

Getting started

1. Open the game and choose Sign in with wallet or Practice as guest.
2. Signing in asks your wallet to sign a short message. It proves the wallet is yours; it is not a transaction and costs nothing. Your farm is then kept on the Solstead server, so it follows your wallet to any browser.
3. A guest farm is saved only in this browser and never earns $STEAD. It is a place to practice and does not carry over to a wallet farm.
4. Read the letter in your mailbox, grab the sickle and start clearing the field.
5. Guest farms save every night when you go to bed. Wallet farms save after every action.

Solstead runs in desktop browsers with a keyboard and mouse. Touch controls are not available yet.

Controls

Farming basics

1. Clear. Weeds and twigs cover the field. Cut them with the sickle.
2. Till. The hoe turns grass inside the fence into soil.
3. Plant. Select a seed packet and use it on tilled soil.
4. Water. The can holds uses. Refill it at the pond, the river or the well.
5. Grow. A crop grows one day overnight if its soil was watered that day. Rain waters every tilled tile.
6. Harvest. Use the sickle or press E on a ripe crop.
7. Ship. Hold a crop and face the bin beside your house. Gold is paid overnight.
8. Sleep. A day runs from 6am to 2am, about ten minutes of real time. Stay up past 2am and you collapse, waking with % energy.

Energy

You have energy. The hoe costs , the can and the sickle cost each. Eat a crop from your bag to recover energy, or go to bed.

Crops

Seeds are sold at Mira's stall in Willowmere and paid for with gold.

Harvest Ledger

Bram pins three orders to the board in Willowmere every day at 00:00 UTC. Every farmer in the valley gets the same three orders, one per tier. Shipping a crop in your bin fills matching orders right away, and the reward is added to your pending $STEAD.

Solbloom bonus. Every Solbloom you pick pays $STEAD, up to a day per farm.

A farm that fills all three orders and picks Solblooms earns $STEAD a day at full rate.

Why real days? An in-game day lasts about ten minutes, so orders follow the calendar to keep rewards fair for everyone.

Leaderboard

The first time you sign in with a wallet you pick a farmer name: 3 to 16 letters, numbers or underscores, unique across the valley. You can change it once a week from the leaderboard.

Only wallet farms are ranked, and every number comes from the server's copy of your farm. Open it with B in the game or on the homepage.

$STEAD tokenomics

Where rewards come from

1. Treasury wallet. Every reward is paid out of the dev treasury wallet.
2. Trading fees. When the treasury runs low, trading fees refill the reward pool.
3. Buybacks. The treasury buys $STEAD back from the market and routes it to rewards.

The daily pool rule

The Ledger pays out at most $STEAD a day across the whole valley. On a busy day when farmers earn more than that together, every payout is scaled down by the same factor.

Wallets and claims

• Supported wallets: Phantom, Solflare and Backpack.
• Sign-in uses one signed message. Playing never asks you to sign a transaction.
• One device at a time: opening your farm somewhere else closes it in the old tab.
• Your pending $STEAD is shown in the Harvest Ledger and in the top right of the game.
• Claims open when $STEAD launches. Final payouts follow the daily pool rule above.

Fair play

$STEAD has real value, so the game is built so that cheating does not pay.

• The server runs your farm. Your browser predicts each action for instant feedback, and the server replays it with the same rules. Gold, seeds, crops, energy and $STEAD only change when the server agrees. An edited save or a modified game simply gets corrected.
• Every action is checked. You can only use tools on the tiles next to you, buy seeds at Mira's stall, ship at your bin and sleep in your bed. Moving faster than you can walk, speeding up the game clock or replaying old requests is rejected.
• Tomorrow's weather is secret. It is rolled on the server, so it cannot be predicted or rerolled.
• Rewards are capped. Three orders and Solbloom bonuses per farm per day, and at most $STEAD across the whole valley.
• Multi-wallet farming is limited. Each network can run up to farms that earn $STEAD per day. Further wallets can still play, but they earn nothing until the next day.
• Flood protection. Actions are rate limited, and every rejected action is logged for review before claims.

FAQ

Does it cost anything to play?

No. Seeds and everything else in the game are bought with gold you earn by farming.

Do I need a wallet?

Not to play. You need one to bind your farm and your pending $STEAD to you.

When can I claim?

When $STEAD launches. The contract address will appear on this page and on the homepage.

What happens when the treasury runs low?

Trading fees refill it first, then treasury buybacks.

What happens if I edit the game or my save?

Nothing useful. The server's copy of your farm wins, and your browser is put back in sync.
